Clinical Case
Implant placement level in socket bone graft site.

PATIENT INFORMATION
Patient : 47 years old, Male
Medical History : N/S

Chief Complaint
  • Pain in lower right 1st molar.

DIAGNOSIS 
  • Periodontitis with buccal bone loss.

TREATMENT PLAN
  1. Socket bone graft.
  2. Staged implant placement.

DISCUSSION
  • Gingival thickness of socket graft site was less than 2mm at buccal dehiscent molar.
  • Biological width was reported to 3~4mm in gingiva around the implant. 
  • To prevent marginal bone loss around implant, the implant has to be placed 3mm below gingival crest in thin biotype gingiva.
